POS Settings
Before you can process payments, configure your payment gateway and sales tax rate under Settings → Point of Sale.
Payment gateway
Iraca connects to your own payment processor account — you keep your negotiated rates and payouts go directly to you.
Supported gateways:
| Gateway | What you need |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Secret key (sk_live_…) + Publishable key (pk_live_…) |
| PayPal | Client ID + Client secret |
| Square | Access token + Location ID |
Connecting a gateway
- Select your gateway (Stripe, PayPal, or Square).
- Enter the required credentials from your gateway dashboard.
- Click Connect.
Credentials are stored encrypted — they're never shown in plaintext after saving.
Google Pay (Stripe only)
When Stripe is connected, the charge dialog automatically shows a Google Pay button on Android devices using Chrome — no extra configuration required.
Apple Pay requires Stripe Connect, which is not yet available. It will be supported in the Iraca mobile app (coming soon).
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect on the connected gateway card. You'll be asked to confirm. You won't be able to process POS payments until you reconnect a gateway.
You can only have one gateway connected at a time. Connecting a new one replaces the existing connection.
Sales tax rate
Enter your local sales tax rate as a percentage (e.g. 8.25 for 8.25%). This rate is applied to all taxable POS transactions.
You are responsible for filing and remitting the collected tax to the appropriate authority. Iraca calculates and records the tax amount but does not file on your behalf.
Tax exemption for wholesale customers
When ringing up a sale for a wholesale customer, you can mark the transaction as tax-exempt:
- Tax exempt — enter the customer's resale certificate number. The certificate is stored against the customer record for future sales.
- Exempt, pending certificate — the sale goes through tax-free but is flagged. You have 30 days to collect the certificate.
- Charge tax — treat the sale as a retail transaction for this order only.
