Split Shipments

If an order needs to ship in more than one package — because the items don't fit in a single box, or you're splitting a large order across multiple carriers — you can split it into separate shipments, each with its own label, tracking number, and packing slip.

You'll find Split Shipment on any confirmed sales order's detail page.

Setting up packages

When you open the Split Shipment dialog, you'll start with two packages. You can:

  • Add a package — no upper limit; add as many as the order needs.
  • Remove a package — minimum of two (for a single package, use the regular Buy Label flow instead).

For each package, choose a ship-from preset and enter the weight (pounds and ounces) and dimensions (length × width × height in inches).

Choose Get Rates to continue.

Choosing rates

Once Iraca fetches rates for every package, you choose how to select a carrier:

Same carrier for all

Iraca finds carriers and services that are available for every package — so all boxes ship together under the same service. The rate list shows only the options that work for all packages, along with the total price.

Choose this when you want a single tracking number per carrier and consistent delivery estimates.

If no carrier serves all packages (for example, one is too heavy for Priority Mail), switch to Pick per package to handle each one independently.

Pick per package

Each package gets its own rate list in an accordion — expand a package, pick the carrier and service that's right for it, then move to the next. Packages can ship with different carriers and services.

Confirm and buy

The confirm step shows a table with one row per package — dimensions, carrier, service, and price — plus a total row at the bottom.

If your workspace uses a shipping wallet:

  • Your current balance is shown.
  • If the total cost exceeds your balance, you'll see a warning and can top up before confirming.

Marketplace and own-account labels are billed directly by the carrier or marketplace.

Choose Confirm & Buy to purchase all labels.

After you buy

The results screen shows each package with its tracking number. If a label purchase fails for one package, the others are not rolled back — you'll see which succeeded and which failed so you can retry the failed ones individually through the regular Buy Label flow.

Download All Labels generates a combined PDF with every label and its packing slip, ready to print.

Each packing slip in a split shipment automatically shows a "Package X of N" banner (e.g. "Package 1 of 3") so warehouse staff can quickly match each slip to the correct box.

This guide covers the Iraca app and its add-ons. The Iraca Marketplace is documented separately.
